A recent Competition and Markets Authority study of the residential leasehold sector gave rise to several recommendations, which were supported by the Government. These included the publication of an information sheet for prospective leaseholders, to help educate buyers about the nature of leasehold and the rights and obligations of leaseholders. Estate agents selling a leasehold property are obliged to provide the information to prospective purchasers.
